United Way of Greater Lorain County (UWGLC) is committed to protecting your privacy.  UWGLC will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. This policy applies to all information received by UWGLC, both online and offline, on any Platform (“Platform”, includes the UWGLC website and online donation systems), as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.
 
In the log files of our website, we collect IP addresses, browser type, domain names, access times, duration of visit, referring URL, platform new/repeat information, timestamp and exit page information. All of this data is gathered for statistical purposes only – so that we may analyze trends and performance over time. None of this data is personally identifiable.
 
When you make a donation on our site, you are doing so on a safe and secure server. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure correct use of information, we employ reasonable and current Internet security methods and technologies. UWGLC uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt the information you send us when you make a donation. This means that information such as your credit card number is encrypted, sent through the Internet as a jumbled code, then decoded.  This information cannot be read while it is being transmitted.  No information is stored on United Way of Greater Lorain County’s secure server.
