On Saturday, Aug. 7, Franklin Brewing will release Philanthropy: Summer, a Mango Milkshake IPA. The beer is available in 4-packs of 12 oz. cans and can be pre-purchased for pickup at https://franklinbrewcompanyltd.square.site. Franklin Brewing is located at 1245 East Ave. in Elyria.
Philanthropy: Summer is also on tap at local restaurants The Bulldog Pub and Grille, 108 East Main Street in LaGrange, and Lorenzo’s Pizzeria, 52 South Main Street in Oberlin. A portion of all sales from the cans and the restaurants will be donated to United Way of Greater Lorain County.
“As a local business, it’s important for us to support our community,” said Howard Ross, co-founder of Franklin Brewing. “Philanthropy: Summer is a delicious way to encourage folks to learn more about the work of our local United Way.”
United Way’s Small Business United initiative encourages community members to give big by shopping small. The promotion aims to give a boost to small local businesses while raising money to support United Way’s mission to serve low-income working families.
The first $5,000 in donations made as part of Small Business United will be matched by Buckeye Community Bank as part of the bank’s title sponsorship the initiative.
“United Way has always been strongly supported by our local business community through donations and sponsorships,” said Ryan Aroney, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Lorain County. “Small Business United is our creative approach to returning the favor by activating the power of the United Way network to support these great local businesses, while also raising funds for United Way’s critical work.
“We’re so grateful to Franklin, The Bulldog Pub and Grill, and Lorenzo’s for joining our Small Business United initiative and for giving back to the community through United Way. We’re proud to have such highly thought of local establishments as our partners.”
Franklin Brewing plans to release a variety of seasonal versions of Philanthropy in summer, fall, winter and spring.
“Franklin has been a pioneer in an ever-expanding craft brew market here in Lorain County and we’re excited to form this partnership with them and expand it into the future,” said Aroney.
