Lorain County Mobility Management is an Impact Initiative led by United Way of Greater Lorain County in partnership with MOVE Lorain County.
We seek to increase awareness of transportation options, ensure transportation options are included in planning efforts, collect transportation data, coordinate educational training programs, and develop pilot projects that improve unmet needs and gaps in transportation services.
Lorain County Mobility Management focuses on seniors 65 and older, people with disabilities, and low-income residents. Additionally, it begins to create the foundation to develop a transportation service for everyone and a shared vision of transportation throughout the County.
The proposed 2024 – 2028 Lorain County Coordinated Transportation Plan is now available for public review and comment. The purpose of locally developed, coordinated public transit- human services transportation plans (coordinated plans) is to identify community resources for transportation and mobility, to understand the gaps and unmet needs within those resources, and to determine the approach to addressing those gaps and unmet needs. Federal law requires these plans to be developed and approved through a process that includes participation by seniors, individuals with disabilities, representatives of public, private, and nonprofit transportation and human services providers and other members of the public.
Please see the link below to view the 2024 – 2028 Lorain County Coordinated Transportation Plan Draft. Persons wishing to provide public comment can do so by emailing the Lorain County Mobility Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org, or leaving a message for Lorain County Mobility Management at 440-277-6530. Comments are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024.
