Signature Volunteer Engagement Opportunities

You can help local families, one item at a time.

Host a collection, join us to sort & inventory items, deliver them to one of our collaborative partners, or do all three! Collect Host a collection for one of our priority items at your workplace, storefront, or with your family! We’ll provide a box, signage and messaging.

Sort Schedule a time for your group to join us at the Stephen J. Ross Volunteer Engagement Hub, where we quality check, sanitize, inventory, and package items to be distributed through our collaborative partners. Deliver Help us bring needed items to agencies who will distribute them directly to families! We can arrange an opportunity for you to learn more about that agency and what they do to support the community. *this opportunity is available on an as-needed basis.

Join us for our Saturday Sorts at the Stephen J. Ross Volunteer Hub as we sort, inventory, and package items to be distributed to families in need. Volunteers aged 5+ are welcome.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will train and certify you to provide free tax help for low-to-moderate income families in need of tax preparation assistance. Don’t know much about taxes? Don’t worry—we walk you through a comprehensive & straightforward training – but the software does all of the heavy lifting.

SERVEUNITED AMBASSADORS…

WHAT’S THE COMMITMENT?

ServeUnited Ambassadors typically spend about 3-5 hours every month volunteering & building connections. The time spent falls into the following opportunities:

  • PLAN:
    • Participate in monthly conversations to strategize and make action plans for the month.
  • ACT:
    • Join us at a work session or volunteer on your own – writing notes, making calls, distributing materials, and more.
  • CONNECT:
    • Network with ServeUnited members and other United Way supporters in a casual environment, like a happy hour at one of our Small Business United partners!
